"I have fourteen and a half years of professional baseball experience - six and a half as a player and eight as a coach. I have gotten to know Herbie Zucker through mutual player relationships in professional baseball. I have had an opportunity to see how Herbie relates with the players he represents and how he conducts himself as an agent first hand. The personal connection that Herbie forms with the players he represents is genuine and unparalleled. He not only stays in constant contact with his clients but spends a great deal of time traveling and spending time with his clients face to face.
"Herbie is literally a fan and a friend to the players he represents and that is reflected in the dealings he has with various organizations on their behalf. Herbie is interested in being the best representative he can be and is very inquisitive when it comes to the game of baseball and the way in which his clients are being handled on and off of the field, but, at the same time, maintains good relationships with the people to whom he is asking questions.
"It is refreshing to know that there are honest, caring people in the agent arena who genuinely have the players' best interest at heart! I have enjoyed getting to know Herbie and value our friendship. I would strongly recommend Herbie Zucker and Zucker Sports Management to the player seeking representation at the professional level."
Brad Holman, Former Major League Pitcher and Current Double-A Pitching Coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates
"I have known Herbie since 2006 and have found him to have tremendous passion for his clients and their careers. Herbie devotes both time and interest to all his players and puts their wants and needs ahead of his own. He is a very genuine person and extremely personable. I recently traveled with Herbie to Mexico for 3 days where we watched one of our Padre players play in Winter ball. I don't know of many agents that would take the time or have the interest to go out of the country in October to see how one of his players was performing. He truly cares about the players that he represents."
Tom Gamboa, Field Coordinator, San Diego Padres
"Having worked in baseball for twenty-five years, I have had the chance to observe many people's behaviors and attitudes toward players. What distinguishes some is their commitment to helping a player when things are not going well or even when it appears that a player's career may be over. While I was assisting one such player, I found Herbie Zucker, the player's agent, to be someone exhibiting this kind of commitment. Herbie continued to assist his player far beyond what many would do - and even when it did not appear to be in Herbie's self-interest to do so. He did it because he cared about the individual and felt like his commitment went beyond just making money on the player. I found Herbie to be diligent, professional, and caring. I was particularly impressed that he worked not only to help the player, but also to push the player to take responsibility for himself."
Dr. Ray Karesky, Director of the Employee Assistance Program for three Major League teams
"I have been with Herbie for over three years now. He is the first and last agent I have ever and will ever have.
"The thing that is great about Herbie is he makes you feel like you are a part of his family, like you are the most important thing, and he will do whatever he can do to help you in baseball and in life. Herbie genuinely cares about my career and my life. He's not just some agent that is out for what's best for me in baseball alone. I feel as though he puts me in front of himself and is very passionate about what he does for me and all of his clients.
"Herbie will be a part of my life way after baseball is over."

Herbie and his group represent top level players that we feel honored and blessed to work with on a regular basis. Old Hickory and Zucker Sports have built a strong, lasting relationship that we look forward to adding to each baseball season."

"I have known Herbie Zucker for some time now and would like to share some of my thoughts with his prospective clients. I myself am not a client, however my son (Sean Thompson, a left-handed pitcher) has been a professional baseball player since he was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2002, right out of high school. It was at that time that it became apparent that he would need the guidance of a sports agent. Not long after he was pursued by the Padres, he was also pursued by numerous sports agents. Sean had conversations with a few of these agents and selected one he was comfortable with. To make a long story short, Sean's first selection turned out to be a bad business arrangement with an agent that was definitely in it for money and money alone. Sean and the agent felt it was time to part ways and move on.
"Sean at this time was leary about sports agents and their motives. But then he met Herbie Zucker of Zucker Sports Management. Sean spoke extensively with Herbie about his past experience with the last agent he had. Herbie understood Sean's concerns and was very knowledgeable about his work and revealed very different objectives to Sean. To start with, Herbie is a terrific person, and he takes a very different approach to representing his clients, including my son. He represents the athlete's business needs with proven results, but more importantly, he also builds friendships with his clients.
"My son has had some ups and downs in his career; baseball is a very demanding business that takes patience and hard work to be successful. Herbie has been there for all of the pluses and minuses with support and encouragement. In my opinion he is irreplaceable. Sean consistently shares things with me that Herbie has done for him or on his behalf that far exceed what is expected of him as an agent. And it doesn't stop there: he is also very concerned with what we are feeling as parents. He keeps us up to date on Sean and what he is doing for him. I am sure that isn't a contractual duty, but he does it because he is wants us to know that he is more than just a typical businessman. In our opinion, Herbie is an outstanding businessman who knows his job and how to get results for his clients, but more importantly, he is a genuine person who cares about the people he represents. To sum it all up, Herbie is as good an agent, person, and friend that young prospects or seasoned veteran athletes could hope to find."
Mark Thompson, La Junta, Colorado
"As parents of one of Herbie's clients, we highly recommend Zucker Sports Management Group to any prospective baseball player. As the outsiders looking in, we feel that Herbie has been a superb agent for our son, Travis Chick. He has always shown a strong interest in Travis' career, both on the field and off. He has traveled the country to see him pitch, coming to see him everywhere from Spring Training, to surprise visits when he pitched on his birthday, and to Seattle for his major league debut.
"Herbie continuously establishes rapport with his coaches and management to keep abreast of their evaluations and suggestions, which have helped Travis in his development. And he has procured ancilliary contracts with various companies to provide gloves, cleats, baseball cards, or whatever else Travis may need to play the game he loves.
"We have truly been grateful for Herbie's dedication to our son, and for the friendship he has shown him and us. He has always kept us abreast of what's happening and what to expect. We've had many late night conversations with him...sharing excitement and concerns. We have found a friend in Herbie and I'm sure even after Travis' baseball career is over (hopefully a long time from now!), that he will still be in our lives."
